自力村是广东省开平市塘口镇的一处自然村，归强亚村管辖，东距开平市区12公里；村内的碉楼群是世界文化遗产「开平碉楼与村落」的组成部分。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

方姓的安和里、合安里、永安里三个村落合起来叫自力村，它们的俗称依次是犁头咀、新村、黄泥岭。据百度百科，安和里在清道光十七年（1837年）最先立村，1950年代初三村并为一村，村名取「自食其力」之意。[1]

人口[edit]

村里户籍人口175人，旅居海外和港澳的华侨、同胞248人，以美国、加拿大、英国、马来西亚等国及港澳地区为主，侨汇曾是村民的收入来源之一。[1]

碉楼[edit]

现存碉楼和居庐15座，大部分建于民国时期的二三十年代，以钢筋混凝土和进口建材建造，既住人又防盗防匪；造型上，既有古希腊式柱廊，也有哥特式尖顶，中西合璧。[1] 铭石楼曾作电影《让子弹飞》的取景地，云幻楼内存有一副50字的长联。[1]

自力村碉楼群在2001年6月成为全国重点文物保护单位（国务院公布）；到2007年6月，它作为「开平碉楼与村落」的一部分载入《世界遗产名录》。如今这里属国家5A级旅游景区。[1]
