村子先后获评「台山市农村基层党组织建设示范单位」和「台山市文明村」，经济以水产养殖和农业种植为主。[2]

鸡笼山和孖公山横在村子的西南方；往东越过望头迳，连着猪山顶和莲角山，这些山大致围成半个环，一直伸到白湾的海边。村域里平地、丘陵、山地都有。[1]

村党群服务中心面积186.8平方米，也用作党员教育培训的场所，在这里开展的培训和现场教学已超过720人次。[2]
