西廓村是广东省台山市端芬镇的行政村，位于端芬圩以西约2千米，与塘底村、塘头村相邻，村委会设在大同市。[2][3]
按端芬镇人民政府2026年的介绍，全村面积5.71平方千米，有17个村民小组，户籍979户、3741人，常住1352人。肉鸡养殖是村里的主导产业，西廓村因此被认定为广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」肉鸡专业村。[1][2] 大同河边的西廓圩是1920年代兴建的骑楼圩市，曾被用作电影外景地。[5]
历史沿革[edit]
地名资料说，建村时村里有一座西廓桥，村名由此而来。[3] 清代此地属矬峒都，民国年间归第八区吉昌乡，1953年设第十八区西廓乡。[3][2]
1957年办农业社时，西廓一带分成瑞群、西联、香步、龙墩、坪岗、塘底六个社，其中后四个在当年就分了出去；瑞群和西联两社在1958年11月各自转为大队，1961年再合为西廓大队。1984年起称西廓乡，1987年1月设村委会，1988年9月改称管理区，1998年11月恢复为村民委员会。2004年7月，香步村委会并入西廓村。[4]
近年村里先后被评为「江门市基层党建示范村」（2020年）和「广东省卫生村」（2021年12月），村党组织2021年获「江门市先进基层党组织」称号；2023年列入江门市级「百千万工程」典型村，2026年1月又入选广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1][3]
经济[edit]
西廓村地形半是丘陵、半是平原。地名资料记有耕地5867亩，水田和旱地分别为4376亩、1491亩，主产稻谷和甘蔗；镇政府现在列出的主要作物是稻谷、黑皮冬瓜、辣椒和柑橘。[4][1]
2021年9月，西廓村列入第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，主导产品为肉鸡。[3] 村内的家昌养殖专业合作社占地208亩，近年扩大规模，每年饲养肉鸡约50万只，产值约3000万元。[1][2] 村里还利用25亩闲置地开辟阳光葡萄采摘园，葡萄销往深圳、香港等地；原梁庭学校闲置的校舍租给金田电子加工厂，带动150多名村民在本村就业。[1][2]
村集体的收入主要来自发包林地、农田和出租商铺。[1] 早在1995年，村里就向海内外乡亲筹得近30万元，在大同市盖了一座两层楼房出租。[4] 近年村民和华侨又捐资800多万元，用于村道硬化、安装路灯、修建文化楼和整治村容，龙华、香步、上墩等自然村建成了美丽乡村。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
西廓桥位于大同河上游，桥头连着西廓圩。沿大同河约一里的河段上，先后有西廓圩、大同市、汀江圩三处圩市，各有一座桥，当地称为「一里三桥」。[5]
西廓圩建在河中的一个小岛上，1922年开始兴建，前后建起60多间两三层的骑楼铺位，围成一个方形。当年圩内开有金铺、打铁铺、茶楼等，逢二、七为圩日。圩里的居民大多是梁姓后人，人口最多时有四百多人，2018年前后约剩两百人。[5]
如今圩市已不再经商，保存完好的骑楼有48栋，临河一侧的骑楼街与码头、小桥、古树相连。1996年，周华健、张艾嘉主演的电影《我要活下去》曾在这里取景；因格局与附近的梅家大院相近，有人把它称作「梅家小院」。[5]
