邹村是台山市白沙镇下辖的行政村，在镇境东部，隔河与三八圩相对，与潮境村的船步相邻。[1] 据博雅地名网，村名来自建村者的姓氏邹。[2] 2026年镇政府资料记人口3072人，设32个村民小组。[1]

近代英语教育家、报人邝其照出生在今邹村的顺和村。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，这里设邹村乡，归台山县第四区。[1] 1955年成立邹村、新余福庆、山泉等高级社；1958年改为邹村大队，属三八公社；1986年改称管理区，1998年成立村委会（博雅地名网作1999年）。[2][1] 2004年，原红庆、新余两个村委会并入，组成今天的邹村村委会。[1] 2006年三八镇撤销后，邹村划归白沙镇。[4]

地理环境[edit]

三八河从村境流过，村子地处丘陵，建有5处水利灌溉站。[1] 全村有耕地2628.13亩，水田占1726.22亩；另有鱼塘483亩、岗地861亩。[1]

农产品以稻谷、番薯为主，畜禽以生猪为主。[1]

文化[edit]

村里的迺仓中学建于1988年，2023年改建为明德学校。[1] 2021年，邹村获评广东省卫生村。[2]

著名人物[edit]

邝其照，字容阶（蓉阶），生于今邹村顺和村；镇政府网站上的资料对他的生年有道光十六年（1836年）和1845年两种记法。他早年在香港中央书院读书，后来在香港开过药店，也到澳大利亚经营草药生意。[3]

同治年间，邝其照回国任职。清政府1872年起派幼童留学美国，他先在上海的预备学校为幼童出国前补习英语，1874年随第三批、1875年随第四批留美幼童赴美，此后留美在教育使团任职，前后约七年半。[3] 他编纂了《字典集成》《英语汇腋初集》《华英字典集成》等英语学习书，1875年还用西方制图法绘制出版了《地球五大洲全图》。[3] 回国后他参与上海《汇报》的编辑出版；1885年调到广东，在两广总督张之洞的总督府任总文案，协办洋务；1886年在广州创办《广报》，1891年报纸被迫停刊后迁到沙面，改以《中西日报》之名继续发行。[3] 2025年1月，江门的中国侨都华侨华人博物馆举办了邝其照专题展。[3]
