茅莲村是广东省江门市台山市水步镇东部的一个行政村，面积6.8平方千米，辖12条自然村。据镇政府2026年公布的资料，全村696户、2513人。[1][2] 村名由辖内茅坪村、莲塘村两个村名各取一字合成。[1] 茅莲是水步镇的中心村之一，在村庄规划中属集聚提升类。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期，茅莲一带属文章都明堂堡；民国时期属台山县第二区的茅罗乡。1953年，这里成为台山县第十三区下的茅莲乡；1958年乡改大队，此后又经历茅莲乡、茅莲管理区等名称，到1999年设立茅莲村民委员会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村境内有山林19766亩。耕地共2547亩，水田占2012亩；另有鱼塘616亩，山塘水库2座共70亩。[2][1] 2023年，村里建成马山水坝和茅坪水坝。[1]
经济[edit]
粮食作物主要是水稻，另种蔬菜和玉米。[2] 据镇政府资料，村里34户养鸡户每年出栏鸡约239万只，纯收入四百二十多万元；每年养猪约4200头，收入五百七十多万元；养淡水鱼的年收入六十多万元。[2] 脱贫攻坚期间，村里办起过「扶贫车间」。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村里建有碉楼。雷公岭上有一块米盛石，据村中老人讲，这块石头曾经出米，因而得名。[2]
