甘边村是广东省江门市台山市水步镇下辖的行政村，在镇境西部，村委会设在脑村1号。全村面积约5平方千米，有12条自然村，编为10个村民小组；据镇政府2026年公布的资料，共298户、1120人。[1][2]
「甘边」一名与早年的住户有关：解放前这里是甘姓客家人的住地，后来黄姓迁入，甘姓迁出，地名沿用了下来。[1] 村中的甘棠村曾获评广东省卫生村和「广东名村」。[2]
地理环境[edit]
据百度百科，村子东面与干田管理区相接，南面与三八镇的风门凹相邻。[1] 境内有山林2631亩，山塘水库4座，鱼塘160亩；农地中水田约1200亩，岗地约400亩。[2]
经济[edit]
水稻是主要粮食作物，芋头、玉米、番石榴、新会柑和花卉也有种植。养殖业以鸡为主，兼养鸭和淡水鱼：据镇政府资料，18户养鸡户每年出栏的鸡在100万只以上，年纯收入合计二百多万元。[2] 2011年村里成立了组级合作社。[1]
2003年，绿香美园艺科技有限公司在村里落户，生产和销售室内盆栽，也承接园林绿化工程、培育绿化苗木。公司建有温室6万平方米，生产面积将近400亩，主要出产8个品种的小盆栽，年产量一百多万盆，使用「绿香美」品牌。[2][1] 2024年，村里开始发展农业与旅游结合的项目，建成新娘房休闲生态基地。[1]
文化[edit]
村里保存有黄元龙故居和祥麟书室等旧建筑。海外的甘边侨胞曾捐资兴办甘边华侨中学；今天的村党群服务中心，原是侨胞捐建的甘边人民大会堂，1980年经过改建。[1]
甘棠村在2013年至2016年获评「广东省卫生村」，2014年由广东省农村工作办公室等部门评为「广东名村」。村委会2017年获「创建无邪教示范村」称号，甘边党支部2021年获评先进党支部。[2][1]
