当地居民除务农外，许多人以制作皮鞋为业，皮鞋是社区的特色产业。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1996年，公益镇下设5个管理区，这里是其中之一；2001年公益镇撤销后，并入大江镇管辖。[2]

经济[edit]

社区的农产品以黄豆和生姜为主。[1] 乡贤伍丽霞、伍艳霞、伍仕灯等人出力支持家乡建设。[1]
