潮连街道是广东省江门市蓬江区下辖的街道，位于江门市东北部的潮连岛上，面积12.68平方千米；东面隔江是中山市古镇镇，南、西、北三面分别与江海区外海街道、北街街道、荷塘镇相邻。[1]街道办事处设在青年路83号，下辖塘边、芝山、富冈、卢边、坦边、豸冈6个社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据地方志书的记载，岛上在北宋初年已有汉族居民，因四面环水、潮汐相连而得名潮连；南宋时有卢、陈、李、区、潘等姓族人自南雄珠玑巷迁来。[3]潮连寨见于南宋嘉定六年（1213年），元代沿设并有巡检官一名，明清改设潮连巡检司。[3]在行政上，清代归新会县华萼都，民国时归新会县第四区。[2]

1977年，潮连划入江门市管辖，设潮连公社；其后改区、改镇，1986年12月称潮连镇，2002年4月改为潮连街道。[1][2]维基百科则记为2000年改设街道办事处，与前者不一致。[2]

地理环境[edit]

潮连是西江干流上的江心岛，与对岸的古镇之间由潮连大桥连接。[3]潮连大桥1996年4月建成通车，2016年停止收费，收费站在2019年拆除，2022年完成大桥加固工程。[3]街道的气候属南亚热带。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末，街道总人口为12914人。[1]

经济[edit]

地方一般预算收入在2011年为7250万元，增幅22.07%。[1]近年街道推进村级工业园改造，卢边的大湾彩虹城项目投资3.5亿元，另有芝山公共服务大楼、塘边三坊商业城等项目在推进。[4]2019年，蓬江区政府与腾讯集团签约合作，江门职业技术学院也与华为公司签约，岛上随之兴建科创中心和人才公寓。[3]

文化[edit]

潮连以舞纱龙闻名，芝山社区的纱龙已有700多年历史。[2][5]街道依托卢边的祠堂街和潮头中央公园，修复古民居，发展乡村民宿和研学旅游。[4]

教育[edit]

基础教育有潮连中心学校；高校和职业院校方面，岛上有广东邮电职业技术学院，还有江门市技师学院、江门职业技术学院的潮连校区。[3]
