楼下社区位于汕头市濠江区河浦街道西北，邻河北社区，紧靠河浦大道。据博雅地名网，村子建于元至正年间（1341—1369年），因坐落在阶梯形的山坡下而得名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1983年12月称楼下大队，1986年称楼下村委会；1994年设立村民委员会归三河街道管辖，2003年濠江区成立后设楼下居委会，2004年街道更名后属河浦街道。[2]

经济[edit]

村里有传统的造船技术，擅长造四肚木船。社区有耕地270亩，种水稻、花生、大豆等，海水养殖场100亩养殖虾蟹；居民还靠家庭小作坊增收，2005年人均年收入3280元。[1]
