河南社区是汕头市濠江区河浦街道的一个社区，在濠江西岸，原河浦村落的南面。据博雅地名网，村子建于南宋嘉定年间（1208—1224年），辖区约9平方千米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

河浦村原称濠浦，后改称河浦。1954年农业合作化时分出河南农业社，1970年称河南大队，1982年设河南村委会，1986年改设河南居委会，归河浦镇管辖，此后随河浦的建制变化归三河街道、河浦街道。社区名称得自它在原河浦乡的西南部。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

村落呈正方形，东接河东社区，北连河北社区，住宅多为混凝土平房。社区有山林4948亩，耕地1582亩（水田1111亩、旱地825亩），果林400亩，种荔枝、青梅、茶叶，水产养殖440亩，另有蓄水100万立方米的大脚虾水库。[1]

社区内的河南小学是濠江区一级重点小学；居委会前建有约350平方米的文化活动广场。2017年10月，社区被广东省爱国卫生运动委员会列入第一批广东省卫生村。[1][2]
