广澳是汕头市濠江区广澳街道的社区，位于达濠半岛的东南突出部，东临南海。这里明代以前荒僻，后有人来捕鱼垦地，形成分散的聚落，史称“广澳十八乡”，广澳街道即以此得名。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

十八乡各聚落有的相隔5公里以上，包括前澳埔、丘厝寮、郑厝、狗头宫，外坑的乌狄坑、龟坑、陈厝坑，另有上双坑、下双坑、鲤鱼埔、营仔角四处后来荒废。[3]

1814年（嘉庆十九年）起编为乡。1949年名广澳乡，隶达濠区；1957年11月改称广澳村，1959年成立广澳大队；1984年4月复设广澳乡；1986年12月，下五、埭头、东湖三乡与广澳合为一乡，立广澳村委会；1989年1月归汕头经济特区的广澳管理区；1992年1月街道成立后归其管辖，1996年6月撤管理区，设广澳居委会，2003年属濠江区至今。[3]

地理环境[edit]

辖区约9.9平方公里，含耕地320亩上下、工业用地32亩上下、居住用地111864平方米，与汕头保税区相邻。[2]

经济[edit]

社区水产养殖较发达，网箱养殖加高位池养虾，年产值在2700万元以上；种植业有1200人从业，产值534万元；工业从业者300多人。社区有广澳初级中学（学生920人）和广澳小学（学生1387人）。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

广澳炮台遗址在社区南面约三公里的营盘山上，1717年（康熙五十六年）始建，遗址只剩环形墙基与一处炮眼，基部垒大石，上部夯贝灰沙，2014年10月列为汕头市文物保护单位。[1][4]
