光华街道是广东省汕头市金平区下辖的街道，位于汕头老城西部，名称来自辖区一带俗称的「光华埠」。2020年，原光华街道与乌桥街道合并，沿用光华街道之名，现辖14个社区。[1][3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

这个街道最早是乌桥街道所辖的平建居委会；1968年12月单独设为红建街道，1981年6月改称光华街道，归同平区；1991年11月转归升平区。[3]1994年11月，以潮汕路为分界线，街道被拆成西边的光华、东边的新华两个街道；2002年1月再并为一，名称仍为光华。[3]2003年3月，金园、升平两区合为金平区，街道也归入金平区。[3]

乌桥街道是另一个单位：它管辖乌桥岛，岛在梅溪河、榕江、练江汇合处，周围都是水，1959年时称乌桥管理区。[5]2020年金平区把乌桥、光华两街道撤销，新设光华街道，5月3日至4日举行了挂牌仪式。[3][5]维基百科和博雅地名网的各社区页面把这次合并记作2019年，街道沿革页记作2020年，这里以后者为准。[3][6]

原光华街道的辖区约3.52平方千米，原乌桥街道约0.6平方千米，两地之间隔着梅溪河。[2][5]办事处的地址有两说：博雅地名网为北海旁路1号A座，维基百科为光华路72号。[1][6]

原光华街道有10857户、38018人（博雅地名网，未注年份）；原乌桥街道2011年末常住人口为1.67万人。[2][5]维基百科列出合并后街道的总人口45094人，没有说明年份。[6]

博雅地名网记原光华街道2009年工业总产值18.56亿元，商业销售额10.27亿元，当年有规模以上企业33家，涉及化工、塑料、机械、印刷等行业，另有市西交货运市场和光华路茶叶专业市场。[2]原乌桥街道在2011年有企业160多家，产业以电力电子为主，兼有塑料印刷、装饰和商贸。[5]

文化[edit]

汕头设埠之前，厦岭一带是明清内河商船的泊口和出海口岸，当地的厦岭古庙俗称妈祖宫；厦岭妈宫于1994年10月6日列为汕头市文物保护单位，年代记为明。[1]

汕头电视塔立在潮汕路和大学路的交汇处，1988年10月开建，塔高212米，1991年2月26日启用，同年1月入选第三版「汕头八景」，称「荧塔流云」。[7]博雅地名网在大学路上社区的辖区内列有广东潮剧院；该院的成立时间是1958年12月，由广东省潮剧团和几个民间剧团合并而成。[8]
