新海街道是汕头市龙湖区下辖的街道，辖八个行政村，办事处设在昆仑山路与东直路交叉口东南侧[1]。它是2019年从外砂、新溪、珠池三个街道分出一部分区域新设的，辖区临海，在东海岸新城一带[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

2019年11月，汕头市政府批复同意，将外砂街道、新溪街道、珠池街道的部分区域分出，新设龙华、新海、龙腾三个街道，龙湖区的街道由此增至10个[1]。2020年1月，三个新街道集中挂牌[1]。街道名称指向东海岸新城的新湾，以及从新溪街道分出的沿海区域[1]。

人口与面积[edit]

据博雅地名网，辖区面积约26.95平方千米；第七次全国人口普查（2021年6月公布）显示，街道人口约3.97万人，在龙湖区各街道中居第7位[1]。

下辖村[edit]

街道辖八合村、七合村、东南村、大兴村、东升村、六份村、十一合村和西南村，原属澄海县新溪一带。其中十一合村的传统民居已改造成“十一合艺术村”，西南村在2017年获第五届全国文明村镇称号[2][3]。村名里的“七合”“八合”“十一合”，相传都是清同治年间外砂谢姓人家围垦海滩、依次合并成村的序号[1]。
