广兴是广东省汕头市龙湖区珠池街道下辖的社区，前身为广兴村，1950年前后由外来垦荒定居的居民形成，后农转非、改村为居。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1950年汕头市民政局组织来汕头谋生的贫苦居民和当年无业人员及家属到广兴塭开荒定居，取名广兴村，寓意广大群众兴旺。[1]另一段概况称，村民来自粤闽两省、潮汕一市九县，在汕头东部海滩垦荒。[2]

此地先后隶属金砂乡（1950年）、五七公社（1975年）、珠池公社（1980年）、珠池区（1984年），1986年由珠池办事处管辖；1992年称广兴居委会，2002年起为广兴社区居民委员会。[1]

社区概况[edit]

博雅地名网记社区位于珠池路南侧，东邻珠南、西南邻蓝田，有人口2650人（原村人口不足800人），社区集体经济年收入400多万元；设有小学和幼儿园、农贸市场、敬老院，并建有180套住宅的广兴新村。该文未注明统计年份。[2]
