坪东社区在深圳市龙岗区坪地街道的东部，东边是惠盐高速，北边是龙岗大道，面积3.8平方千米，下辖西湖塘、富地岗、坪地圩3个居民小组。[1] 因位于原坪地镇东面，取名坪东。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网载，1949年10月坪东属惠阳县；1957年12月撤区并乡后归龙岗乡，1958年10月改称坪东大队，同年11月随龙岗公社划入宝安县。[3]

人口与文化[edit]

龙岗区政府网站称社区户籍人口约2200人，总人口约4.2万人。西湖塘腊鸭被列入坪地「十大手信」，是社区的特色品牌。[1]
