燕川社区是深圳市宝安区燕罗街道的驻地，由原松岗镇燕川村改制而成，位于深圳与东莞交界，辖区面积7.8平方千米。[1]村名的来历，据传是村前临茅洲河，西北两面有山，东边为平原，从前常见燕子在此落脚，村民认为“燕落银川”是好兆头。[2]这里是宝安的老革命区，1928年中共宝安县委的第一次党员代表大会在村中的祠堂召开。[3][4]
历史沿革[edit]
燕川解放前属宝安县，解放后先后为松岗公社的燕川大队、松岗镇的燕川村民委员会；2004年7月深圳农村城市化转制后改称燕川社区居民委员会，2016年底燕罗街道设立，社区成为街道办事处所在地。[1][5]
东宝行政督导处是中共领导的东莞、宝安抗日民主政府，1944年7月到1946年6月设在村里的陈氏宗祠与培泽陈公祠；陈氏宗祠始建于明代。[5]
人口民族[edit]
据博雅地名网所载介绍（约2013年前后），社区有户籍居民1452人，流动的外来人口约13万，党员88名。[1]
经济[edit]
社区经济以出租物业为主，设有5个工业区，引进工厂企业400多家，臻鼎科技、劲嘉集团等企业在此投产，也引进了连锁超市、酒店等商业。[1]
