上川社区归深圳市宝安区新安街道管辖，前身为1994年6月成立的上川社区居委会，2006年2月挂牌成立社区工作站，管辖宝城31区、35区，面积0.58平方千米。[1][2]

社区内既有安华、滨城、天源、黄金台等商住小区，也有工业小区和城中村，百度百科称其含住宅小区7个、商住小区2个、城中村小区1个。[1][2] 辖区内有上合小学、振华学校、永联学校3所小学。[2]
