历史沿革[edit]

名称的来历：中坌分上下两段，下段叫下中坌。[1]新中国成立后称石中乡，1958年为中坌大队，1984年改中坌乡，1986年设中坌村委会；1987年分设上、下中坌村委会；此后1989年改设管理区，到1998年管理区撤销，恢复为村委会，这一名称一直用到现在。[1]

据仁化县人民政府网站对石塘镇的介绍，下中坌曾屋村建有分布式光伏项目并正常运营；石塘村至下中坌村一段的石塘河完成了清淤疏浚。[2]
