历史沿革[edit]

名称的来历：中坌分为上下两段，上段称上中坌，下段称下中坌。[1]新中国成立后这里称石中乡，1958年为中坌大队，1984年改中坌乡，1986年设中坌村委会；1987年一分为二，成立上中坌村委会；此后1989年改设管理区，到1998年管理区撤销，恢复为村委会，这一名称一直用到现在。[1]

经济[edit]

上中坌的马蹄在仁化颇有名气，几乎家家都种。[2]

据仁化县人民政府网站对石塘镇的介绍，中坌的马蹄个大、皮薄、肉厚，在仁化最为出色，当地有亲友来访先以鲜马蹄待客的习俗；村里的公益林示范区被建设为绿美广东生态建设示范点，开展大径材培育、林下经济和森林生态体验步道等项目。[3]
