居委会成立于1980年4月，名称沿用至今。[1]
地理环境[edit]
辖区四面都与南岗社区的亨元片相邻：东到桃花巷，南到二十三社，西到新街，北到二十四社。[1]
人口民族[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，常住2680人（1079户），另有约250名流动人口，建有32栋居民楼；广州海洋地质调查局的12个处级单位设在社区内。[1]
文化[edit]
