萧岗是广州市白云区云城街道辖内的城中村，处在白云山脚下，旧称番禺慕德里司萧岗乡。[1][2]它是三元里抗英领袖何玉成的故乡，村中保存有揽翠山房、得朋书院等清代建筑，所产萧岗菜心也曾远近有名。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

村域东起云城路（旧白云机场一侧），南与棠溪、棠下相邻，西至广花路，北到黄石路并与江夏村接壤，总面积约4平方千米。[1]白云机场迁出后，萧岗与兴建中的白云新城相邻，2010年地铁2号线通到此处。[1]

人口民族[edit]

百度百科记本地人口八千多，以何姓、徐姓为大姓，另有叶、关、陈、区等姓。[1]外来人口众多、流动量大，不少村民靠出租房屋为生。[1]

经济[edit]

萧岗菜心是村里的特色农产品，菜心约一尺高，叶片细、节间疏，颜色碧绿，口感脆。[1][2]相传起初由一位柳姓女子和一位叶姓女子种出，故又称柳叶菜心；村民引白云山泉水灌溉。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

揽翠山房又称何玉成故居，在北门大街15号，始建于清咸丰年间，是砖木结构的单间建筑，门额刻有“揽翠山房”四字。[2][3]它于2002年7月列入广州市文物保护单位名录（第六批）；萧岗经济联合社在2022年10月启动修缮，2023年初完工。[3]各资料记其面积不一，百度百科为约40平方米，维基百科为约60平方米。[3][4]

得朋书院在东华大街，清光绪初年始建，占地约1900平方米，由乡人集资兴办，现为萧岗书法协会和粤曲协会的活动场所。[2]村内另有何氏大宗祠。[2]

著名人物[edit]

何玉成，名琳，号琢石，1817年中秀才，1831年中举，早年在乡里教书，办有怀清社学。[2]鸦片战争期间，他与南海、番禺、增城各地的社学联络，召集民众聚集三元里抵御英军。[2][3]咸丰末年，他辞官返乡，受乡民之托主持保良局，并协助乡内多所私塾。[2]
