广棠社区属广州市天河区棠下街道，设立于2005年5月，约2.8平方千米，在街道各社区中辖区较广。[1]
概况[edit]
社区的土地原来分属棠下村与棠东村，两村地块被广园路分开，「广棠」之名由此而来。[1] 辖区南边靠广梅汕铁路和广园东快速路，西边是科韵北路；南部为工商业区，中部是农田，北部是山地。[1] 户籍人口约四百，流动人口约八千。[1] 辖内有一百三十来家单位，其中有物流配送中心和石油化工研究院。[1] 2019年，社区在广东省评选中被列为「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
这里本是东圃镇棠下村、棠东村的农田和山林，夹杂武警营房、海军农场、合成材料厂等单位用地，起初由丰乐社区代管，2005年5月才经区政府批准另设社区。区内市政道路只有三条：广梅汕铁路、广园东快速路、科韵北路，其余是小水泥路和山路。登记户籍的居民170多户，400多人。2024年11月入选「广州市充分就业社区」。[2]
