天河村的名称由来见天河南街道条目：村子宋代称大水圳村，后改称天河村，天河区之名也源于此[3]。社区成立于1998年1月1日[1]。

地理环境[edit]

社区在天河南街道西部，西邻广和社区，东邻天荣社区，南北分别以黄埔大道和天河路为界，实行半封闭管理[1]。辖区房屋401间，多数出租；主要街巷装有16个监控探头，6个主要出入口设有岗亭[1]。
