历史沿革[edit]

2002年7月，素社街道的第四、第五、第六居委会合并成立素社中居委会。2024年11月，获评「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]

文化[edit]

博雅地名网记载，“素社”一名与旧时文人聚会吃斋有关。[1] 另据海珠区委宣传部与星海音乐学院的调研，这个名称很可能来自民国时期的素社音乐社。[2]
