海运社区属广州市海珠区滨江街道，因靠近珠江水系的内河，与省内各内河港口的货运往来密切而得名。[1] 社区由滨江街道原来的两个居委会在2002年合并而成。[1] 2024年11月，它获评「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]
