河沙原属白云区，作为行政村在2002年1月被划给荔湾区；桥中街道在当年3月成立。[1][2]
人口民族[edit]
社区常住人口不足2500人，外来的流动人口较多。[1]
文化[edit]
辖区内有河沙社区卫生服务站。社区办过羽毛球赛、醒狮贺卡手工和亲子健步行；2019年进入广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位的名单。[1]地铁6号线设有河沙站。[3]
