历史沿革[edit]
沙面街原设四个居委会，1999年并为两个，2002年两者分别改称翠洲和鹅潭；2014年鹅潭一并划入，此后只剩翠洲这一名称。[1]
人口与社区建设[edit]
户籍人口为4262人（1331户），常住人口2011人（1012户）。[1]社区绿化率为43%，辖4个综合网格，把全岛辟为少车的慢行区和步行街区，并试行「大物管」物业服务。[1]
广州市住建部门于2021年、2022年两度将其列为绿色社区；2024年1月入选2023年度广东省的民主法治示范社区，同年11月又获广州市充分就业社区（村）称号（2024年度）。[2]
