历史沿革[edit]
村名的由来是：旧时此处芦苇丛生，远望如竹林，且建有芦竹港，可供船只停泊。1949年时属嵛山乡，1952年单设芦竹乡；1962年成为芦竹大队，1987年改为芦竹村民委员会。[1]
辛亥革命先驱朱腾芬因政治失意，退居于此，为人谦和，深得村民敬重。他以侨资在村里开办垦殖公司，尝试种植橡胶。[2]
芦竹村于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2022年3月，村被命名为「2021年福鼎市平安村（社区）」。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村落面积约5.6平方公里，下辖2个自然村。村子东至天湖景区约8公里，北邻马祖村约2公里，西北距秦屿镇海域约8.1海里。[2][1]
海边有海蚀地貌和卵石滩，岸边岙口内有大片滩涂。[2]
经济[edit]
渔业是村里的主导产业，主要捕捞虾皮、红虾、丁香鱼、虾蛄等经济类海产，村中有两家小型水产品加工厂。[2]
