村子海拔约300至500米，属亚热带季风性湿润气候。村域陆地面积约4.2平方千米，水域面积约1.1平方千米，森林覆盖率在九成以上。[2]
村内马山一带保留着近千亩原始森林，林中生长着数百种植物，还有数十种珍稀物种。[2]
