下尾村隶属福建省宁德市福鼎市太姥山镇，为一个行政村，位于镇西北部太姥山脚下，距镇政府约3公里，省道沙吕线和福宁高速公路穿境而过。[1][2]
村名因位于才堡村之下而得名。1988年12月自才堡村分出，设立村委会。2021年11月，村获评2021年福建省卫生村。[1][2]
