水北村位于福鼎市区北郊，靠近闽浙交界处，东与贯岭镇西山村接壤，距市区约3公里。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村名取自其处在桐山溪北段的位置。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1998年才有水北村民委员会，此后归山前街道管辖。[2]

2021年11月，省爱卫办授予村子「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[2]

2022年3月，村被命名为「2021年福鼎市平安村（社区）」。[2]

自然与人文[edit]

村子西边隔河与桐山街道的桥头村相对，南侧连着程家洞社区，北侧是贯岭镇的透埕、邦福两村。[1]

境内有水北生态公园、水北小学（今水北中心幼儿园）、桐山溪和普后溪等自然与人文景观。[1]

当地的历史文脉包括水北渡头、闽浙古官道和宗族祠堂。[1]

槟榔芋、黄芪、茶叶和杨梅是村内主要的特色作物。[2]
