桐南社区位于福鼎市政治、文化中心地带，是桐山街道下辖的社区。东侧靠近桐山溪，西侧到龙山溪，南边与桐城街道的海口社区接壤，北边紧邻十字社区。[2]

社区前身是桐南街居民委员会，2002年改为现在的名称。[3]
2021年，社区获评福鼎市平安社区。[3]
社区获得的荣誉有省级劳动保障工作先进单位，以及市级先进基层党支部、文明社区等称号。[1]
