东山村位于穆阳溪畔，村名取自村址在山的东边。村落距乡政府驻地约2.5千米，宁武高速公路穿村境而过。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年时归中藻乡，1958年改属彭山乡，1961年设东山大队，1984年起成为东山村委会。[1]

上世纪80年代，村中屡发山体滑坡与泥石流。1988年一场台风暴雨之后，有关部门认定村址有滑坡隐患，村民140户480人经造福工程迁至眠犬山下的新址，原村从此分为上东山、下东山两处。[2]

2022年10月，福建省农业农村厅将东山村列为第二批乡村治理示范村镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

1984年10月，东山雪洞被公布为市级文物保护单位。刘中藻（1605～1649）归福安时曾在此读《易》，洞口一带留有「刘子读易处」等摩崖石刻。[2][3]
