村名的来由：早先村中有一座小瓦楼，建在林子里，称“瓦林”；后因方言谐音，改为今名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1961至1966年间归溪亭小公社管辖，1966年下半年成立玉林大队，1984年改设村民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

2017年8月，玉林村列入福建省第二批省级传统村落名录。[1]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予玉林村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
