长汀村位于坂中畲族乡境内，村名的由来与旧时房屋的排布有关。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名缘起：据博雅地名网，后唐时期此处已有九座相连的厅堂和一座长屋；因方言中「厅」「汀」同音，遂得名长汀。[1]
1950年村地归第一区长潭乡管辖；1958年设长汀大队；1966年划入坂中公社。1984年坂中畲族乡成立，大队改称长汀村委会，村名延续至今。[1]
