地名由来[edit]
村子处于山岙之中，原名上岙，地名由此而来[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
1984年起称上岙村委会，自2013年1月18日起改用上沃村民委员会这一名称。此前的建制经历了大队阶段：1976年由洋中大队分出，设上岙大队；1968年隶属洋中大队；1950年初则属仙岭乡[1]。
建筑与人文[edit]
村中现存人寿天堂、万寿宝阁等清代建筑，其中两座建于嘉庆年间，另有吴氏宗祠、陈氏宗祠与吴三公宫[1]。村子的历史可追溯到宋代，解放前曾是曾志、叶飞等革命家的革命基点村[1]。东山山顶海拔1184米，博雅地名网将东山列为韩阳十景之一的「东山雪霁」[1]。
