地名由来[edit]
地名出自一个传说：有王虎下山，归居于一座亭中，此处因而称为步兜亭[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
清乾隆十年，东门外建起一座供出城群众歇脚的亭子，旁有民房数间，是这里最早的聚落之一[2]。新中国成立后，这里划为新开发建设的村庄，陆续建起一批水泥钢筋和砖木结构的房屋[2]。
1994年7月，步兜亭居民委员会设立，此前这一片原属秦溪村管辖，之后沿用至今[1]。
