楼下村位于柏柱洋西南麓，距溪柄镇区约12.5千米，一向是柏柱洋一带的经济与文化中心。[1]村中有唐代始建的狮峰寺、明清时期的古民居建筑群，村子于2019年入选第七批中国历史文化名村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村子坐落在山脚下，抬头可见山上其他村庄建起的楼房，村名因此而来。[5]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年设立楼下乡，此后一度称柏柱公社，1958年设楼下大队，村民委员会则在1984年成立。[6]

名胜古迹[edit]

狮峰寺的初建时间是唐景福元年（892年）。明永乐年间，寺院搬到了今天的位置；万历四十年（1612年）与清嘉庆年间，又有过重修。[4]寺院在土地革命时期曾是闽东红带会的总部，该会1933年12月成立。[1]2006年5月25日，国务院把它列为「第六批全国重点文物保护单位」。[4]

村中古民居群落共有32幢，建筑形制整齐，其中最早的一幢建于清嘉庆十三年（1808年）。[1]1997年，清华大学的陈志华教授曾带队到村中考察，随后出版了《楼下村》一书。[1]

1954年秋，村中出现了中农社和贫农社，两处遗址至今仍留存。[1]

南宋人郑虎臣出生于村中的南山自然村。[3][7]

荣誉[edit]

村子于2007年被福建省人民政府列为省级第三批「历史文化名村」，2014年获授「福建省生态文化村」称号。[1]2015年列入「中国传统村落」名录（福安市人民政府网站所记；博雅地名网与百度百科记为2014年）。[1][2][3]2019年1月，入选「第七批中国历史文化名村」。[2]2020年12月，入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单。[2]2025年11月，被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[2]
