王坑村位于下白石镇中部丘陵，白马河畔，距镇区约7公里，是畲族聚居的行政村。村名的来历是早年一户王姓人家住在坑边。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国初村地属下白石区顶头乡，1956年归并入半岭乡。1980年自半岭、林门头两大队分出，另设王坑大队；1984年改为村委会。[1][2]

概况[edit]

村域面积约5平方千米，下辖上王坑、下王坑、填洋、长兰尾和王坑新村5个自然村。博雅地名网载，2021年全村184户715人，其中畲族占九成以上，村内保留50多座传统民居。[1][2]
