下白石镇是福建省宁德市福安市南部的沿海乡镇。白马河自北向南流经它的东侧，东面隔河与湾坞镇相望，西面与宁德市八都镇相接。镇名原为黄岐，明代设巡检司后称白石司，嘉靖年间设盐运司时为与上白石相区别而改称下白石。全镇现辖1个社区和41个行政村，是福安市行政村数量最多的乡镇之一。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

黄岐一名见于明景泰六年（1455年）的记载，当时这一带归秦溪里三十四都管辖，清道光以后改为“保”。据传，因黄氏宗族最早迁居大崎，故称黄岐。[1][2]

弘治十三年（1500年），巡检司从上白石迁到此处，地名随之称白石司。嘉靖年间又设盐运司，为了区别于上白石，才改称下白石。[2]

民国十八年（1929年）此地置黄岐区；1946年改设黄岐乡，1949年归第七区管辖。1956年11月设下白石镇，此后经历公社、区、公社的反复，至1984年9月才撤社建镇。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域地势北高南低，北部为高山，中部为山地，东部为平地，南部为滩涂。最高点海拔603米，最低处约海拔5米。[1]

这里的气候为亚热带海洋性季风型，年平均气温约16.9℃，雨水充沛，年降水约1500毫米。海岸线长65千米。[2]

滩涂可围垦造地面积约4万亩，滩涂养殖面积约2.3万亩，主要养殖海蛏、鲟等。[2]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末，辖区总人口为48151人，其中汉族42594人，畲族5557人。[2]

2018年户籍人口为53951人；第七次全国人口普查公报公布，2020年常住人口为30697人。[2][3]

经济[edit]

2011年的资料记载，镇区有白马港，为国家一类对外开放口岸，属3000吨级杂货码头。[2]

同年，农业总产值约6.2亿元，粮食作物以水稻为主，经济作物有龙眼、葡萄和茶叶；渔业产值达4.3亿元。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

荷屿华光殿位于荷屿村村尾，始建于明代，清嘉庆年间（1796年至1820年）重修，门口部分于1949年修建。建筑为砖木结构合院式，中轴线依次为门楼与主座，主座供奉五显帝，左侧殿堂供奉临水夫人。2013年2月，福安市人民政府将其公布为第五批市级文物保护单位。[1][4]
