湄洋村是甘棠镇下辖的村庄，属村庄类城乡分类。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子背靠青山，面前只有一片平坦的土地，原名「眉洋」。后来某年遇旱，庄稼颗粒无收，村民申请改名「湄洋」，寓意有雨水滋润、五谷丰收。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
1946年（民国35年）的县区划表将其记作「眉洋」。新中国成立初期隶属甘棠区观里乡，1958年建湄洋大队。1975年的县表写作「楣洋」，1984年设村民委员会。1990年12月的市区划表与2013年的市区划图又作「眉洋」。2021年，依《福安市人民政府关于甘棠镇牛家洋等3个村更名的批复》，定名湄洋村。[1][3]
