山形似牛，村民称之为「牛洋」，后雅化为今名。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年代初属甘棠区倪洋乡，1958年并入山下大队；1975年从中析出，另立吴洋大队，1984年改设吴洋村民委员会，沿用至今。[3]
