后岐村位于甘棠镇西南部白马河畔，与港岐村一山之隔，距镇政府约1.2公里。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子处在港岐的西南，因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

后晋天福三年（938年），有人从秦溪前浦迁往大留北山，此后迁到后岐定居。明清时期此地属秦溪乡沿江里二十九都。1945年属甘坪保，1950年改村，隶属外塘乡。1958年并入外塘大队，1979年外塘大队析出后岐大队，1984年改为村民委员会。[2]

据博雅地名网概况，村辖土地5.2平方公里，设6个村民小组，村民208户、802人（年份未载）。以农业为主，第三产业为辅，村内田地20亩，山地673亩，森林覆盖率35.32%。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中心有八角井，为明代遗存，始建于明永乐十四年（1416年），井沿呈八角，井台于民国甲申年（1944年）重修。井北侧内壁嵌有刻字青石，记载了永乐年间的造井时间。2013年，福安市人民政府将其列为第五批市级文物保护单位。[4]

荣誉[edit]

本村于2024年1月获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1] 2019年，村子获评甘棠镇先进集体。[3]
