西隐村1950年初期属甘棠区。1958年起划归溪潭公社，称西隐大队；1969年又称东方大队；1984年起为西隐村委会。村为溪潭镇纯天主教行政村之一。村名的来历可追溯到宋朝，此前称楼隐村，后逐渐写作西隐村。村内留存畚斗石、风动石等奇石群。明代郭文周（1512-1578）曾隐居于此。[1][2][3]
