溪潭镇位于福安市西南部，北与康厝乡、坂中畲族乡相接，东与溪柄镇、赛岐镇为邻，南连甘棠镇与罗江，西与蕉城区赤溪镇、周宁县玛坑乡接壤。全镇辖34个行政村和1个社区，镇域面积115.26平方千米，户籍人口4.26万人。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年设溪潭公社，1984年改为乡，1994年撤乡建镇。[1][4]
詹如柏、郑宗玉、陶铸、邓子恢、曾志、叶飞、马立峰等革命者都在溪潭一带活动过。据乡镇概况，马山会议与兰田暴动打响了闽东武装革命的第一枪，并创立了闽东工农游击第一支队。磻溪、院前、瓜溪、马山、濑洋五个行政村被评为老区基点村。[1]
地理环境[edit]
廉溪承接穆阳溪的来水，流经双峰、廉村、溪填等地，最后流进罗江，全程8000多米。磻溪流域长23公里，上游伸入周宁境内，在镇区注入穆阳溪。[1]
全镇年平均气温19.3℃。2014年被评为国家级生态乡镇，森林覆盖率为61.86%。[1]
人口民族[edit]
户籍人口4.26万人，其中畲族6700多人。信天主教的群众有8000多人，是闽东天主教人口聚居最多的乡镇。溪填、上湾、双峰、西隐四个行政村为纯天主教行政村。[1]
经济[edit]
溪潭是福安的农业大镇，生姜、花生、脐橙、茶叶、麻鸭等农产品的种养规模较大，山地农业与林下经济也有发展。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
廉村是中国历史文化名村，村中古城堡、古官道、古码头、古祠堂和古民居保存较多。[1][3]
瓜溪桫椤省级自然保护区位于瓜溪村一带，跨溪潭镇与甘棠镇，1999年设立，占地1438.3公顷，主要保护国家重点保护植物桫椤。[5][6]
在双峰村溪边山下的岩壁上刻有廉溪摩崖石刻，楷书，博雅地名网记其年代为清道光壬辰（1832）。[7]
在凤林村的富溪补阙祠供奉唐代薛令之与历代祖先。祠堂于唐光化二年（899）开始兴建，1753年重建，1848年与1858年又先后修缮。[8]
在磻溪村有革命老妈妈潘玉球故居，建于清道光年间；另有沃坪忠平侯王宫，建于清乾隆年间。[9]
