社口镇位于福建省宁德市福安市西北部，东与潭头镇、城阳镇相邻，北与寿宁县武曲镇毗邻，地处白云山东麓。镇政府驻社口村。[1][2]

因后门山寺庙较多，旧称“寺口”，后因读音相近写作“社口”。境内地势东西两侧高、中部低，龙溪贯穿中部并形成峡谷，最高海拔989.9米，西溪、龙溪、小溪是三条主要河流。镇以茶业为主导产业，坦洋工夫红茶的原产地坦洋村位于境内。[1][2]

1929年此地设西溪区，1946年改称社口镇。1958年撤区设社口乡，同年改为社口公社；1961年改为社口区，1968年又改为社口公社。1984年改为社口乡，1990年撤乡设镇，据博雅地名网所载；百度百科则记撤乡设镇为1992年。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

社口镇属亚热带季风湿润气候，年平均气温17.9℃，年降水量在1700至2050毫米之间。镇政府所在地附近土壤肥沃，适宜茶树生长。[1][2]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻为主，兼产茶叶、柰李、蘑菇和蔬菜；工业有茶叶精制、石板材加工等。[3]

2018年9月，社口镇入选农业产业强镇示范建设名单（据快懂百科）；2019年9月，被农业农村部认定为第九批全国一村一品示范村镇（红茶）；2023年8月，列入首批国家农业产业强镇名单，产业为坦洋工夫红茶；2026年1月，本镇被认定为乡村振兴示范乡镇，属福建省2026年度批次。[1][2][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

牛山湾红旗渠建于1962年，位于牛山湾村西侧山腰，从东向西延伸两公里左右，博雅地名网将其列为近现代重要史迹及代表性建筑。坦洋施光凌墓在岩下村，建于清光绪二十四年（1898年），三合土结构，坐西朝东，墓坪分三级。[3]
