东昆村在福安市区北部，靠近104国道，离潭头镇政府驻地约5公里，辖东昆、凤湾两个自然村[1]。

地名由来[edit]

村庄周围山多，村落坐落在山的东面，故名东昆[1]。

人口与姓氏[edit]

博雅地名网记载全村377户、1344人，未注明统计年份[1]。村民以林、郑两姓为主，其中林姓自北宋真宗年间即在此繁衍[1]。

村庄正对潭头电站形成的淡水湖，背靠生态林，交通便捷[1]。

荣誉与沿革[edit]

2015年，东昆村获评福建省「美丽乡村」示范村[1]。2021年11月，村里获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号[1]。1950年隶属第九区东昆乡，1958年设大队，归上白石管辖，1969年改由潭头公社管辖。1984年大队改设为村委会，沿用至今[1]。
