先祖迁居此地时，本村在附近自然村中规模最大，村名由此而来[1]。

人口与地理[edit]

博雅地名网记载全村483户、2470人，未注明统计年份[1]。交溪流经本村，村庄与潭头村、渔溪洋村、棠溪村、建柄村相接[2]。

村内出产稻米和多种果品，是潭头镇芙蓉李的主产区之一[2]。

荣誉与沿革[edit]

2015年，大庄村获福建省「美丽乡村」称号[2]。2021年11月，村里获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号[1]。1996年村中设知青点，后在电网改造时被烧毁；2010年1月重建村委楼，命名为大庄村委会，沿用至今[1]。
