前洋村隶属上白石镇，村名得自村前一片开阔的田洋。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子最早于1950年设立乡，1956年起归属上白石镇。1984年，前洋设立村委会，沿用至今。[1]

本村曾在2021年12月入选「2021年宁德市乡村文化振兴示范村」，并获得「2022年福建省卫生村」的称号，后一项是于2022年底由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会公布的。[1]
