和平社区位于福安市南部、赛岐镇东南部，紧靠赛江东岸的古码头一带。历史上依托码头，这里曾是赛岐最早的三条街道之一，也是繁华的商贸街。社区名称寓意向往和平。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

社区早先叫北大街。1958年北大街一分为二，成北大与中兴两条街；1966年两条街并一，改名和平街。2013年11月7日设立和平社区居民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

文化[edit]

社区近年建设古港商埠历史文化与乡愁记忆文化示范区，2019年6月获福安市先进基层党组织称号，2020年获五星级基层党组织称号，2021年8月获第十四届福安市文明单位称号。[2]
